At The Scotts Company®, our goal is to meet the ever-growing need for high-performance turf grasses that can take the challenges of heat and drought with lower inputs. Beginning in the early 1990s, we successfully isolated and reproduced bluegrass hybrids that offered the best qualities of each species.

Because the Scotts Research Team found that hybrid crosses can vary greatly in performance, turf quality, seed production and other crucial traits, research continued until we perfected Thermal Blue. Because Thermal Blue withstands hot summer conditions and diseases, it was selected as the premier release of this line of bluegrass hybrids.

The work continues in a company that employs more than 2,500 people at 4 production centers and 4 research centers. Scotts is on a mission to find hybrids that fulfill every turf manager's needs.
